Kahary is all about connecting with listeners through laid-back, uplifting melodies, and thought-provoking lyrics, boasting a flow that echoes performers such as Andrè 3000, Nas, J Dilla and his idol, Curtis Mayfield. Born Khary Ricks, he decided to formulate a new spelling of his first name, to be known as Kahary, whereas “ka” means soul which shows in his music. In early january 2017 Kahary dropped his first project titled Licen$e To Dream. The 7 track EP features production from Tecknowledgy, 4Klassix, BeatsByEmani, Saavane and SoSpecial and OKTho Mag says it’s filled with a nice blend of jazz, hip hop and boom bap for the soul. Shortly after, Kahary dropped his DreamLivin EP on Bandcamp and has released his most recent project called “Better Late Than Never” on Nov. 23, 2018. On October 28, 2019, For Us Dreamers, a 4 track EP has been released. Kahary plans to release more music throughout 2020.
